RO call

Today's Reaching Out meeting was really helpful in providing updates as to where everybody across the whole team is at. As a member of the management team helping Claire, it was great to hear where the different artists were at with their projects, and giving them a little kick up the bum to go faster!

Kema and Sheryl, both so important to my work too, came in for the first half of the meeting. They are both managing other commitments, with teaching, and it just goes to show how multi-tasking this kind of business is. Sheryl is being tasked with animating the entire songbook too, but naturally she has to wait for the pieces to be finished first!

This was a good platform for me to update about the trailer too. Most people had already received appointment emails from me, but I made clear that I would confirm every single one to follow them up. Everybody was on board with my concepts which was encouraging.

We couldn't talk about the trailer all the time though, as I had to take off my project manager hat and resume my marketing assistant one, as we finalised more decisions with the posters and flyers. My main input was that as these would be online flyers - not printed - it was important to make sure they were digitally engaging. It is useful being able to work alongside Claire Cockroft though, as she comes with a wealth of experience in marketing and PR! I have arranged to meet her further to shadow some of her work and gain more tricks of the trade!

During the meeting we got a great group shot of everyone waving for the camera and telling people to tune in too!

Although in these recent blogs I have been focussing more on the trailer and marketing aspects, it is important to not important group decisions re evaluations and many other things are taking place. As Ho-Yin is phasing hi self out of the company this month, the evaluation process (which he used to run), is being standardised so that it is less reliant on one person. That said, Magpie is the one doing this standardisation work, but it makes it easier to transfer between people.

Also, in other news, another Newcastle Uni student has joined! I was told that I would know her from theatre, and it was a nice surprise to see Alex 'Bugsy' Bannon in the zoom too! We have both worked together with theatre before, and it was great that she was joining the comms team too. It was also good to have another person I knew well on the team!
